In June of 2017, PMA opened a new research and development (R&D) office in the Nonagon state of art technology center in Lagoa,  Azores.   Azores is one of the two autonomous regions of Portugal, an archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean about 1,360 km (850 mi) west of continental Portugal, about 1,643 km (1,021 mi) west of Lisbon, in continental Portugal.

Nonagon is the first Science and Technology Park dedicated to technological innovation and entrepreneurship in the Azores. It is a state of the art facility that enables startups to incubate their innovative ideas into commercial technologies.  It’s a creative community of companies both large and small.  A key strategy is to encourage “out of the box” thinking and collective collaboration that delivers maximum value to participating companies and their technologies.
